Vaughan spent four years in the United States after graduating from the Irish National Stud course and then broke in Dubai Millennium when working for Darley in Ireland.
He served as Assistant Trainer to dual Cheltenham Gold Cup-winning trainer Noel Chance, before joining the late Alec Stewart in Newmarket. Following Stewart’s death in 2004, Vaughan started training in his own right and he moved to the historic Machell Place Stables, Newmarket in 2011.
Ed consistently sent out a good number of winners each year with his winners-to-horses ratio being one of the best in the country. His star performer has to date been the dual Group 2 winner Dame Malliot. Vaughan also trained G3 Winter Derby winner Robin Hoods Bay (GB) for the first patron of his stable, Alan Pickering, after the trainer bought him for 9,000gns as a yearling. He has also formed a successful partnership with bloodstock agent Paul Moroney in selling horses on to race internationally.
Ed now embarks on the next chapter of his training career and welcomes the opportunity for new owners to add to his string.
